Elderville-Lakeport VFD

The Elderville-Lakeport VFD was established in 1975 in rural northern Rusk County and southern Gregg County. The department services an area of approximately 150 square miles with an estimated population of nearly 10,000 including the communities of Elderville, Lakeport, Chalk Hill, and Lake Cherokee.

Currently the department is under the leadership of Chief Pat Owens and has 24 members that include 8 certified EMTs and 11 certified Paramedics. There are currently 4 stations within our service area.  Due to the department’s hard work, they currently have an ISO (insurance rating) of a 2 within 5 miles of any of our fire stations.

The department meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. and their website address is elvfd.com.
