Laneville Volunteer Fire Department

The Laneville Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1976 and currently provides services in a 117 square mile area. The Department is located on FM 1798 and is currently under the leadership of Chief Samantha Cryer.

The current membership of the department is 11 members, most of which are certified fire fighters and they also have a team of certified medical first responders. The Department provides fire protection services as well as responding to traffic accidents, medical calls, public safety calls, and public utility calls for Rusk County. The Department mutual aids with the Mt. Enterprise, Reklaw, Eastside and Carlisle Volunteer Fire Departments. The Department meets the 1st Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at their station located on FM 1798.

Our current station houses 6 vehicles- pumper/engines, brush trucks, water tender, and first responder truck. Our station was expanded to house an additional pumper truck which further enhanced our service to our community.  We also received an updated first responder truck in 2023.

The Laneville VFD holds an annual Street Dance, BBQ, and Auction fundraiser on the 3rd Saturday of October each year. The fun begins at 11 a.m. with an auction at 6 p.m. and a band starting at 7 p.m.

Chief Cryer can be contacted at 903-658-7507 or Assistant Chief James Dukes at 903-646-5455.

New volunteers are always welcomed to apply and the department is always in need of support volunteers to help out at the station.
